General SIQURA™ Questions
In one word: durability. Most disinfectants and sanitation products offer what we refer to as a ‘flash kill’. This means that they kill bacteria when they are applied, but then within a short time they evaporate leaving surfaces (or hands) vulnerable to bacterial regrowth. SIQURA™ Hand Sanitiser and Protectant and SIQURA™ Hospital Grade Disinfectant both offer ongoing bacteriostatic efficacy — meaning that they kill germs and then also stick around to prevent bacterial growth. Bacteria can multiply every 15 minutes, so any bacteria not killed during initial disinfection can quickly grow. It’s this long-lasting bacteriostatic efficacy that sets SIQURA™ apart.
Every SIQURA™ product has a different set of efficacy claims, so please refer to the product description for the comprehensive list of what each product has been tested against.
SIQURA Hospital Grade Disinfectant & Protectant has been assessed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, and following assessment of the data and label (which describes the product claims), the T.G.A. listed the product on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (the ARTG), as well as included the product on the list of disinfectants effective against COVID-19.
A lot of people ask us about our Hand Sanitiser and Protectant. It's a bit of a complicated answer — the Australian regulatory framework for hand products making antibacterial claims has long been split between hand sanitisers regulated under the Cosmetic Goods Act and hand antiseptics regulated by the T.G.A. Historically only products intended to be sold into hospitals or where medical procedures were taking place were listed on the ARTG., with the vast majority of products being regulated under the Cosmetic Goods Act.
Prior to COVID-19, there were only a handful of hand antiseptic products listed on the ARTG. When COVID-19 first occurred, the industry recognised that it could not possibly manage the supply of regulated hand antiseptics, and in order to maintain supply and access the T.G.A. issued a short term exemption to hospitals that allowed them to use products containing greater than 80% ethanol in healthcare settings, and subsequently many ‘alcohol’ based products have been registered under the OTC rapid pathway. This has created much confusion for both consumers and industry. The exemption does not entitle a manufacturer of alcohol hand antiseptics to make any medical ‘claim’ other than “Antiseptic hand rub”, “Kills Germs”, “Broad Spectrum” and “Fast Acting”. You may note that none of these claims are claims that the product kills viruses or is effective against COVID. To the best of our knowledge (information has been supplied by the T.G.A.) there are no hand antiseptic products on the ARTG today that can make a virucidal claim.
The QuatLock™ technology within SIQURA™ products works at a microscopic level — it’s too small for us to see (or even feel) but it’s very effective against the nasties that we’re trying to protect ourselves against. When used as directed you are unlikely to notice that it is even there.
SIQURA is free from chemicals that build up, damage or modify the look and feel of the surfaces.
The active ingredient in SIQURA™ products are called quaternary ammonium compounds, for short we refer to them as Quats. While Quats are an active ingredient in many existing cleaning products, we have taken the science a step further by finding a way to ‘lock’ the quats onto surfaces to provide long-lasting bacteriostatic protection. Hence the name “Quatlock”.
Each SIQURA™ product has a different formulation, depending on its purpose therefore we suggest reading the SDS for a full run down on the ingredients and directions for use. On the whole we endeavour to develop products that break down to form simple organic compounds reducing the potential for negative environmental impacts.
Some products in the SIQURA™ cleaning range have been designed work together as a clean, disinfect and protect hygiene system. For more information on how products can be used please refer to the SDS and follow the directions.

SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser
Most hand sanitisers use alcohol to poison microbes. While this is effective in killing the germs that are on hands at the time it doesn’t provide any ongoing protection against bacterial regrowth. When used frequently the high concentration of alcohol can also leave hands cracked, dry and damaged. SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser uses a small electrostatic charge to kill bacteria and then QuatLock™ technology creates a microscopic shield that provides ongoing bacteriostatic efficacy to keep hands cleaner longer. Without the harsh chemicals of other sanitisers, even after multiple applications hands remain cleaner, soft and smooth.
SIQURA™ extreme Hand Sanitiser is very easy to use. Hands should be clean and dry before applying foam. Apply foam to both hands and ensure hands are thoroughly covered. Allow hands to air-dry. Once dry, the active ingredient is locked onto your hands to keep them cleaner, longer.
Rather than poisoning microbes by using alcohol or harsh chemicals SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser uses a small electrostatic charge to kill microorganisms, making it suitable for use in childcare, education, commercial and domestic environments. The non-alcohol formulation will not dry, crack or damage your hands. Even after multiple applications, hands remain soft and smooth. SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser is friendly for humans. It is rapidly degrading and breaks down to form simple organic compounds — reducing the potential for negative environmental impacts.
We understand that many products in the market are alcohol based and leave hands sticky and very dry. The non-alcohol formulation in SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser will not dry, crack or damage your hands. The QuatLock™ protective shield is microscopic — meaning it’s so small that you may not even notice that it’s there.
SIQURA™ eXtreme Hand Sanitiser will have ongoing bacteriostatic efficacy even after several washes, but for optimum performance we recommend that you reapply after hand washing or if hands become soiled.
Yes, it is ok to eat with your hands after using SIQURA eXtreme
Our 50ml Travel bottle will give you 100 foam applications.
Our 375ml bottle will last up to 440 foaming applications.
SIQURA eXtreme Hand Sanitiser is also available in 5L and 20L containers if you're looking for bulk quantities.

SIQURA™ Multi Surface Spray
SIQURA™ Multi Surface Spray has been designed as part of a clean, disinfect and protect hygiene system and is to be used in between your regular applications of SIQURA™ Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant. Together these products form an advanced antimicrobial system for a cleaner environment. SIQURA™ Multi Surface Spray is ideal for intermittent cleaning. Spray the entire surface area or apply directly to a sponge or microfiber cloth and wipe clean. Allow to airdry.
SIQURA™ Multi Surface Spray is made from naturally derived surfactants, it’s pH-7, phosphate-free and neutral. Rapidly degrading it breaks down to form simple organic compounds — reducing the potential for negative environmental impacts. Its friendly formulation will help to remove spillages and general traffic dirt from a range of hard surfaces including floors, counters, door handles, furniture and seating. It is suitable for alkali-sensitive surfaces such as terrazzo, marble or ceramic tiles.
SIQURA™ Multi Surface Spray has colloidal surfactants in it. Surfactants are what’s called ‘surface-active agents’ and their role is to lower the surface tension between two things. In this case they work on a macromolecular level to clean dirt, spillages, oils and other matter by dislodging them from the surface. It also contains QuatLock™ which boosts the defensive shield created by SIQURA™ Hospital Grade Surface Disinfectant.
